Lluis Barba

Lluís Barba (Barcelona, 1952) is a prominent Spanish multidisciplinary artist known for his biting social criticism through the fusion of classical and contemporary art.

Dialogue with the Past: Barba interrelates historical paintings (by artists such as Bosch, Goya, and Brueghel) with contemporary icons like celebrities, brands, and QR codes. Social Critique and Irony: His compositions often denounce global problems such as consumerism, inequality, and the loss of historical memory. Recognition: In 2010, he received the Young Masters Art Prize for his work The Hay Wain.
